Jakarta

My first picture taken in Jakarta

Nicholas Teo is seriously making a name for himself on the international arena. Malaysia Boleh!

My trip there was mostly spent window shopping in malls. However, the surprising thing is I never once took a photo in any of the malls. So no pictures. Such a pity..even for myself..

My niece ordered this after we went to watch Ironman in premiere class at Senayan City. This was at Urban Kitchen. The concept of the place is similar to Food Loft in Gurney. This is marshmellow..You barbeque it and then you dip it in the choc

This the cinema ticket for the premiere class for Ironman.

I bought Krispy Kreme to be eaten while watching Ironman. Ermm..I could hardly differentiate it from J.Co though. For me both are too sweet for my taste bud. I like the sugar glazed ones better. Not too rich, just right.

I went to The Duck King in Pondok Indah Mall. I had to wait a freaking hour just to have a taste of the duck. How was the duck? It was ok, I think. I don't really have a liking towards duck. If I'm not mistaken, this is a franchise from Hong Kong. I went to another restaurant that is famous for it's duck as well. The place is called Bebek Bengil, translated in english as Dirty Duck. This is a franchise from Bali. The restaurant is really famous in Bali. Apparently, in Bali, there are live ducks running around the restaurant making the appearance look dirty. Herein, the name. But the one in Jakarta does not serve up to expectations.

These are the 2 major public transportation in Jakarta. But you can hardly see any chinese using them. For them, it is rather unsafe.

For the record, the 3 long weeks that I've been in Jakarta there have been demonstrations every other day. Maybe it was coincidence as these past weeks happened to be the 10th anniversary of 5 students gunned down at a university, then the government decided to raise oil prices as much as 30% So, poor will suffer even more. Only the rich can keep up with the price hike. In Jakarta, you'll see alot of young children on streets begging for money by going up to cars during traffic jam. Alot of street peddlars as well, selling snacks, cigarettes. We always LOCK the car door right after getting on the car. Teenagers and young adults mostly earn money by directing traffic, eg: pay them and they will risk their lives to block traffic from other directions that are hindering you from getting on your desired path. This mostly happens at crossroads/junctions or u-turns.

This is a place for you to fix flat tyres.

There are a lot of these kind of stalls in Jakarta mostly selling Bakmi or Bakso or Nasi Goreng or Soto. These carts are pulled by humans

Specially for female drivers. How come we don't have that in Penang?

I had Din Tai Fung as well. FINALLY after failed attempts in Taiwan and Singapore. It was a birthday celebration as well.

I went Bandung as well. It is another shopping heaven

This is Kangkung Hotplate, specialty of Bandung. Bet you can't get them here in Penang.

This is Fu Yong Hai. So different from what we have here.

This is a frog dish. I don't know the name though.

This was taken during my niece's
1 year old birthday party at a hotel.

This is her birthday cake.

One of the latest attractions in Jakarta. Waterbom. It is a water theme park. The slides and stuff are cool but you need to climb up practically 3-4 floors of stair before sliding down all the time carrying your own float. Freaking tiring just after 2 rounds.

To let you guys get a grip of just exactly how rich the rich really are, this is one of the houses in one the most elite housing estates. This place is called Pantai Mutiara. The sea is just a stone's throw away. Some have their own yatch behind their houses. The trend now is to build roman inspired designs.

Welcome to Your Own Private Resort. This island is privately owned and I had the privilege tag along. I LOVE the yatch! there are 2 rooms in it. A master bed room and another small room that fits 2 people. The is one hell of a big plasma tv in the living room. Couldn't take too much pictures or else I'll be considered rude.

They are all staring at the baby sharks and the turtles in the enclosure. They even have their own sharks. WTH

This is how the island looks like, from afar.

Don't you think this is paradise? Your very own beach

Kids that never have to do anything except for maybe playing Nintendo DS. With maids at their expenses, they don't even have to lift a finger. Just call.."Embaaaaakkk...!!!" and everything is done for you.

Phewww.. This is one verrrryyy lllooooonngggg post.

Jakarta

Current location : Jakarta

Life in Jakarta is so far so good. I have been out most of the days. Mind you though, I did not go on a spending spree..couldn't afford it even if I wanted to. To set the record straight, things aren't exactly cheap here.

There are so many shopping malls here. Yet, there seems to be more new ones built everytime I come. Nearby my aunt's place used to have only one mall which is called Megamall. Now there is Pluit Junction and one more on the way..don't know the name though. Megamall is under renovation as well. Getting bigger and prettier. I went to a new mall yesterday, it is called Pondok Indah Mall. It seems that only the rich and famous shop and dine here. I went to a place called Duck King. We waited for an hour just to get a place. Some celebrity dined there as well. But I don't know who she was(some Indonesian actress). According to my cousin, those that live in Pondok Indah are filthy rich. Houses as big as castles. People, I tell you, the houses here are freaking big. Now the trend is to build western influence housed..therefore you see a lot of big pillars, statues at the front of the house, town houses. Most of these houses are empty. Sometimes the servants amount to more than their owners. Ok, coming back to the main point, if the housing areas nearby where I live isn't big enough, I'm just wondering how big the houses in Pondok Indah are. If I have the chance to take pictures, I'll post it up in my blog later.

There's one thing that I don't really like though. The traffic is seriously horrendous here. Especially on weekdays, a normal journeys that takes only 30 minutes at the maximum can go up till an hour or more. Alot of time is wasted on the road. Everybody drives here. Nada public transportation, too dangerous. Maybe it is just in Jakarta as it is really difficult making a living especially if you are the low wage earner. Rich are filthy rich and poor are darn poor. The gap is just too big.

will try to update as often as i can but the connection here is slow. and what with me going out everyday, there is not much time left for me to go online.

L-O-U-S-Y

has anyone ever called me that? never! i repeat...never! but these few days i'm been called that alot and i do mean alot. my 'friend' who frustrates me so( you know who you are) has been calling me lousy at least 10X a day, tries to make me explode while chatting on msn and yet managed to make me grin at the same time. she is different and i do seriously mean different from the people that i always hang around with. have u ever felt pressured talking to someone on msn? she doesn't make grammar mistakes, uses bombastic words that no one ever uses except when writing essays for exams....what with all the rojak languages that i usually use talking with my friends...this is making me feel like talking to an english teacher while chatting with her...
P.S. Aud..are u reading this??

Finally i have reached my big two-o. i got a very nice surprise party from my best friends last week. almost teared..luckily i got a grip of myself. what was my present? they gave me a big bag.. big enough for me to runaway from home..don't get me wrong..i like the bag..liking it more by the day.

actually this post is supposed to be a short one as i'm writing this while waiting for my friend to pick me up for dinner...

Guess what..a new person has entered the blogging world...
http://lifeisgame-juinquah.blogspot.com
you must be surprised that she decided to blog. go visit her page.i find it interesting. totally a different style of writing compared to mine

Tschuss!

Taiwan

As I promised earlier, this is a a more in-depth explanation about my holiday trip to Taiwan

No pictures of Taiwan Taoyuan Airport as we felt that it was not as pretty as e thought. I finally found out that we arrived at the old terminal as we flew in from Hong Kong. If you came from western countries or Japan or Korea(I think) then you will see the new terminal which is nicer.

Day One
After being stuck in the jam for almost 2hours we finally arrived at our hotel. We quickly freshened up and left for the famous Shilin Night Market
This is the night market. Next to it is the food centre. There are a lot of stalls but mostly they offer the same delicacies namely lu rou fan, fried oyster, fried noodles, steaks, and of course the famous pearl tea, that is something not to be missed. I highly recommend the Famous Fried Chicken. It is very long..maybe about 20cm long..and very very crispy and it only costs TWD50 which is equivalent to Rm5. It is so big that even with 3 people sharing, we couldn't finish it. The night market is packed. It is actually one very long lane that offers anything a person can think of..from pets to underwears and laser pointers. You can see lots of tourist here as well. Unfortunately, we didn't get anything here. After the night market we went to some night clubs. There is one called room 18, where a lot of celebs go to, the club is big and have nice interiors. Too bad we didn't bring along our cameras. We went back to the same place after a few days but guess what...It closed down for renovation.

Day Two
Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. The place is really big. That day, the wind was strong and it rained a little. So we were all shivering..
We went SHOPPING after that at the famous Xi Men Ding. Can you believe that we shopped for nearly 12 hours from 11am to about 10.30pm. There were so many shops and believe me..the things there are really cheap.

This was what we came back to the hotel with. Notice how many pairs of shoes we bought in just one day? By the end of the trip the three of us bought 15pairs of shoes and we had to lug it from Taiwan to Hong Kong and then back to Penang.

Day Three
The third involved a lot of walking, running, and braving the rain.

Yang Ming Shan National Park. It is named after the founder Mr. Wang Yang Ming. Coincidentally, there was a flower show going on. So we got to see a lot of flowers that we didn't even knew existed or mistakenly took it as vegetables.

Next we went to Xin Beitou for its hotspring. We rented a private room(so we didn't have to strip naked in front of unknown people). It is a different experience from swimming. There is one hotspring that is outdoors and they don't separate the gents and the ladies. So everyone goes in wearing their bathing suits. This was what our private pool looked like. This is the surroundings of Xin Beitou

Next destination: Danshui Fisherman's Wharf
I think some of you might recognise it from taiwan drama series. Although it is quite far away, but the view you get from the place is really nice.

We nearly froze to death while waiting for our caricature to be drawn. I'm really amazed at how the girl lasted the evening sitting there and drawing.

After dinner we rushed to Taipei 101. It was already 8.50pm when we took

the taxiand found out that last entrance was at 9.15pm.
My two friends ran up 5 floors as they couldn't wait for the lift. Me, being too lazy waited for it and managed to reach before them. hahaaha..so much for their effort running. The night view from the top is magnificent.

Then we went to the nearby Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall.

On the way, coincidentally(again) there was some lantern
exihibition going on. So we took photos again.

Ok. I'm lost for words now. So I'll update the rest of my trip next time..

All I can say is that the transport system in Taiwan is really good and efficient. You don't even need a car to get around. The MRT and buses connect even to the most deserted/far away places and the fares are quite reasonable. You just need a map to navigate yourself around. If you don't know or lost, all you need to do is just ask around preferably in mandarin although there was this one time a girl came over to help us and she just automatically spoke in english. Maybe she sensed that we had difficulty asking the right question from an uncle

Laziness Has Set In

My blog has been inactive for the past month. I seriously think that is it because I have lost the willpower to maintain and update it on a frequent basis. Why am I updating it now? I some how feel obligated to update it for you readers, however little it may be.

For the past few days, I've been sleeping over at Eve's place and tagging along with her and her 'friend'. After 3 days of tagging along, I've finally decided that I will not, or at the very least try to stop tagging along due to some reasons.
#1: While tagging along I felt that I will automatically be absorbed or camouflaged into the surroundings as I seldom talk or have nothing much in common to talk about.
#2: When I meet with their friends, I become half mute and again...nothing much in common to talk about.

Currently..as in today, I'm counting down the days to my next holiday. Destination: Jakarta. It has been nearly 3 years since I last went there. This will be one very LONG holidays..I think it's a 3 weeks long vacation.

I can't wait for my friend to come back from Canada! Miss her so much. I think it has been nearly a year she left.

P.S. I am now jobless. So if you guys want to ask me out, feel free to..anytime..

I am finally BACK

After a 2 month hiatus, I'm finally updating my blog again. I've been busy as bee(as always). Many things have come and gone.

The latest thing that I've been up to was going on my much anticipated holiday to Taiwan and Hong Kong. The trip was fun and memorable..3 girls going holidays on their own without any tour guide, only depending on our spoken mandarin as we can't really read chinese characters. We still managed to go to some really nice places which was very kind of far from the city.

Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Place Food and accommodation was good too. Shopping is nice also. Can you count how many pairs of shoes we bought in a day?
Transportation is really accessible, even to places outskirts of the city. Things are cheap and pretty but not suitable for Malaysian weather as it is winter over there. The weather was really unpredictable. We did our homework by researching on the weather and preparing our winter clothings but when we arrive the wind changed its course and was blowing really strong. Temperatures in Taipei dropped to a low of 10 degrees celcius. I know it might be mild to some of you, but mind you, this was our first trip during winter. The average temperature in Malaysia is between 24-36 degrees celcius. The difference was big and plus the strong wind, we were practically shivering everyday. We brought along 3 umbrellas but 2 'died' during our trip to Yehliu Geo-Park.

With Pluto, the queue was shorter than Mickey's Avenue of Stars
I'll blog again in-depth about the places that I visited and worth highlighting about...soon

I'm FINALLY back!!

Did anyone missed me? I doubt it. Anyway, what have I been up to for the past month? Can you believe that it has been one month since I finished STPM? I didn't do anything much...practically just pigging away on hawker food day and night and when there is time..laze around on my bed. I have not had much rest unlike all my friends. I started work the Monday right after my last paper, which means that I only had 5 days of rest. However, 3 days was spent tour guiding a family friend from KL. The next 2 days, I forgot what I did but to sum it all up, I didn't get to recharge myself and I already embarked onto a new phase-Working life. My job is really exciting. From the moment I step into the office the phone doesn't stop ringing till it is time for me to go home. There will always to deadlines to meet and customers and vendors and sales persons to please on the phone. I'm not complaining though. Times really flies when I'm in the office. And since it is the holiday season, all my relatives from near and far have decided to congregate on the Pearl Island. Going to work during the day and entertaining relatives in the night, how taxing it is for me? You go figure! Well, I can't write or more precisely type word for word what I've been up to lately, but this should sum it all up plus the pictures. As the saying goes, a pictures is worth a thousand words so with the amount of pictures that I posted it will be a few thousands words.

The first event after STPM...the little baby's birthday..A real diehard fan of mickey. I think this is the 3rd mickey mouse birthday cake in a row...

Up next : Christmas eve dinner with the whole family...we decided on steamboat
Went to church for a little while. ..just to capture the Christmas feeling..my classmate

Went out for a drink with my cousins.. and I do mean a drink.. Only drank one mug of beer the entire night because I was the assigned driver..

This is QE2. I really like the atmosphere and the view alot. Such a pity the crowd isn't what I expected. Mostly saw the older generation(ahem...old enough to be called aunties and uncles)... oh where oh where have all the pretty/handsome guys gone?
Me, my ever so funny cousin, another cousin and his girlfriend, a very nice girl..i like her so much..

Taken while having hokkien mee at 12.30am in Hot Wok. So love the yam cake there
31/12/2007 : This was how i spent my last day of 2007. At my friend's house. A year has come and gone. Hopefully I will face the new year with more courage and good luck and $$$$
1/1/2008: Typical of us to hang out at Gurney. All my friends..Pretty girls in a row. Watched National Treasure 2 on the 1st day of 2008. The movie gets a 6+ out of 10.

STPM

Countdown : 13 days to STPM...

So not ready for it and yet I chose to waste my time away..e.g updating my blog, watching tv etc, doing everything but studying. School these few days has been a waste too. Did nothing except writing autograph books. Tomorrow is another aimless day in school..It's finally the last day of school. No more going to school in my entire lifetime. No more school uniform wearing days. It is FINALLY time to grow up(although I'm already grown up) because there is no more need to attend school. No more wishing 'Good morning teacher! or 'Thank you teacher' or 'Shit..I've not done my homework'(which is so typical of me). I will definitely miss my schooling life. Although form 6 is not the easiest route to take but I really enjoyed it to the core. The past 1 and a half years was just great, my friends and life excluding the homework, assignments and teachers.

I guess the growing up part is where I have a bit of difficulty facing up to. The thought of being separated from friends so dear and close to me, for some the past 13years, some 7years and some, 2years.I'm already so used to their presence that I find it hard to take the harsh reality. It's not that I don't want to grow up..but..., I just can't seem to find the right words to describe the feelings inside me.

What more with the Majlis Mohon Restu that the school organised last Friday( it seems that the school planned to make everyone cry) that was so touching and the things and hugs that the teachers gave, it has finally dawned on me that it's FINALLY over.

I will be stepping into another realm altogether..University?Working? I might not know what awaits me but I think(I hope) I'll be ready to face it when it comes.

Books, STPM, here I come! see you peeps in a month's time. Don't miss me while I'm on my hiatus! Aus wedersehen! Out of sight but not out of mind

It's Integration Day Again!!

A few days back was my school's integration day again. It is a day where everyone gets to wear something other than school uniforms to school. Almost everyone wore clothings of other races instead of their own. The most popular attire of the day was sari and also punjabi suit. Most chinese, teachers included wore the 5m long cloth that is tied around the body, yours truly included.
My english teacher. She tied my sari for me...
Two Chinese that don't even own their own tradisional clothes and have to resort to wearing sari and baju kebaya

This girl is one of my best friend and DEFINITELY the horniest..

It was sort of a fun day filled with performances and drama and eating food...Lots of food..Especialy cookies and cakes what with the Raya celebration that just ended. This day is way better than having lessons. Sometimes I have to drag myself to school.

Update

STPM in 43 days. What have I been doing lately? Nothing much, just wasting my time away. I think my blog is getting a tad too boring. I've not been doing anything interesting that is worth blogging about. It has finally dawned on me that my life lately has been very dull, maybe except for the fact that I still am continuing my movie marathon of one movie per week. I've been watching movies every weekend since May.

The latest movie that I watched was The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising. I feel that this movie is just so-so. The actions and acting was very toned down compared to all the blockbuster movies that I have watched.

I think Lust, Caution deserves to be mentioned in this blog. This supposedly erotic spy-thriller is erotic-free after going through our Censorship Board. Tony Leung and Tang Wei are really good. They were really into the movie. Lee Hom on the other hand, although he has improved alot, acting alongside the two leads, make his presence kind of shrouded. Keep an eye out for Penang(although is was just a few seconds). Try to see if you guys can spot Penang. My advice to those who are still contemplating whether to watch, please watch it in the cinema. I think if you watch a dvd, you might fall asleep as the movie is very serious and sometimes I feel the pace is kind of slow. You can appreciate the art better too, unless the only art you are interested in is looking at the erotic part. Just to let you all know, I went to the filming location in Penang. The best part is Ang Lee, Tang Wei, Joan Chen and Lee Hom all walked pass by right in front of me.

After so long

What happened to me for the past month? Well, I've been busy studying(sort of) for my trial exams. How was it after 'much' preparation? One word sums it all-BAD..I feel that my memory and concentration level has dropped tremendously compared to a few years back when all I had to do was just some revising the night before I sit for the paper. Math although you don't need any studying, yet I can't really excel as I've some sort lost passion for it. Can somebody give me a wake up call and make me realise how close the real exam is as of from now? I think I need to do some reflection and start thinking what do I want to do with my life. Today I heard a quote from a television drama...life without a dream is like a fish without brains. Does that mean I don't have brain?

Laziness kills. Laziness is me. I killed myself

Last Dinner

Yesterday went for dinner at Revolving(it's on the highest level of Georgetown Bayview Hotel) together with the Student's Council Committee. Surprisingly HP and I were the first ones to reach, which is seldom of me. Anyway, the dinner buffet was nice. The view and the revolving restaurant added ambiance to the surroundings. I had a taste of everything. I especially liked the cakes and the main dish that had cheese in it together with seafood(I forgot the name). However, my friend was allergic to it as right after she ate it, she felt awkward and her lips began to swell. Luckily, she didn't take a lot of it. First picture of the night

Sssshhh... It's Secret

I'm sure most of have heard of Jay Chou's latest movie. It's aptly titled Secret. I had some doubts about watching his movie but after reading and hearing comments from people, celebrities and friends, I decided to go for it. I did not regret a single beat going for the movie. It's good. The storyline is also special in its own way. However, the highlight of the show was all the piano playing scenes. I salute their ability to play the piano with so much grace and speed. I read that ALL the piano scenes were taken in One take. If someone played a wrong key some where, they will have to record right from the start again. The ending was very touching. I ALMOST cried. The website they created for this movie is nice too. I'm on a week of holidays now. I VOW to at least finish studying 2 books that are 400 pages thick each

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Today is my youngest brother's 14th birthday. His friends bought him a cake and pressed his face on the cake when he blew the candle...From what I heard, the practically the entire canteen was filled with the singing of birthday song. Anyway, enough about him.

My parents are away for week leaving behind my brothers and I. I had to practically take care of everything as in doing all the washing and cooking(only rice as we cater food) and ironing and stuff. It is really taking a toll on me. Imagine waking up at 6am to get ready for school. School ends at 2pm. Then it is time to take on the driver's job. Driving my brothers to tuition and to and from school. Even my homework has taken a back seat.

One thing that I would like to recommend you readers out there is to watch a film called Red Cherry. It's a movie about war and it revolves around a chinese girl and boy sent to Russia during the communist regime in China to study in an international school. Then one day, German troops came and invaded Russia. The special thing about this movie is that it really shows you what war is really about. It shows you directly how cruelly the Russian civilians were treated and bullied and killings of the young and the old that are weak. Mind you, there is no censorship or cut out parts that deny you from watching EXACTLY how the soldiers kill. You witness the cruelty and disaster war can bring about. This film is directed by a Chinese called Ye Ying. However, the catch is, the entire film is in Russian and German with bits of Chinese here and there. I had to depend on the subtitles to understand the film. Lesson learned(quoting from my teacher) : In the worst of times, it brings out the best in people, which is what the film is trying to convey to its viewers. You see sacrifices at the most noble and peculiar way. I really salute the director for coming up with this film. It really makes you think and reflect about independence and patriotism.

In conjunction with Malaysia's 50th independence, let's shout MERDEKA!!! with pride and glory and be thankful that Malaysia is a peaceful and war free country...

Toothache

My teeth and gums on the right side of my mouth have been aching for the past week. It is getting better though. I think my wisdom tooth is growing. Does anyone know how many wisdom tooth we will have? I thought mine grew last year, just not as painful as this one. I have not been able to chew my food thoroughly and just force myself to swallow the entire chunk. It's driving me up the wall! Arrghhh... Anyone with some good advice regarding toothache?

Penang World Music Festival

Although this event was two weeks ago, it's worth a mention. The event was GREAT even with the rain pouring cats and dogs. I stood in the rain for almost an hour. It was no drizzle. It was heavy with lightings striking over head every now and then. Luckily the rain stop after an hour of downpour. You see lots of Penangnites and also foreigners. The tickets are cheap too. RM40 per person and only RM20 for students. The turnout was good, parents even brought along their children and you can also spot some babies. I stood for a whole 5 hours throughout the entire show. Although the performers were fewer than the ones at the Rainforest World Music Festival in Sarawak, they were great. I especially liked the throat singers from Tuva. It is really something that you don't usually listen to on the radio or download. I bet most of the people don't even know there is such a place as Tuva. The Tuvanians( that's what they call themselves) have only a population size of 300 000. So, it's no wonder that you have not heard of them. Anyways, there is also another band that i really liked. They are called the Inka Marka, playing music from Peru, Chile. What i envy the most is that they are so adapt at playing musical instruments. Each of them knows at least how to play 2 different instruments. Some even plays instruments at a time. This group is from the UK. They sing really nice Spanish songs. But I forgot the band's name.

I also had a culture shock that night. I know it is just common to see teens and young adults dancing and swaying to the music (although the music is really foreign and you don't know what they are singing) but on that night it was a night for people of all AGES. You don't just see young people dancing, you see them dancing with along with THEIR children. The PARENTS were the ones that screamed for encores and definitely outshone themselves compared to their children. That night I not only enjoyed myself listening to the music but also enjoyed people watching. All those dance moves really tickled me. I know I have no right to judge ( I myself don't dance that well) but it was really a sight to behold.

I intended to go on the last night but the rain was just too heavy and it didn't stop till 9 or 10pm.
I read from the website that they intend to make it a yearly event. I for one will definitely be attending next year. One reminder though, I have to drag my friends along with me as I went with my family that night. Somehow we got separated and I stood alone, together with my dad's friend(he's not that old) but we didn't talk much the entire night. My brother, went wandering around out of boredom and never returned until the show ended. He went dancing with the more happening crowd. If I was around my friends the night would have been more memorable.

Back For Good

After being busy for the past month, I now finally have all the time in the world to focus on my studies, homework and catch up on some rest. However, I'm still slow at picking up where I last left about things concerning my homework. Many events took place for the one month that I have not been blogging.

Highlight #1
Prom Night : Stars Of Elegance, 23/06/2007, Gurney Hotel
After 6 months of toiling and fund raising, the night has finally arrived. The week itself was very hectic. We had to go to the hotel a few days before the night to make sure that everything was alright, but all of us were very satisfied with the outcome. All the hardwork paid off.
The ballroom. Can you see the balloons? My classmates and I. Every one turn into pretty girls that night. A far cry from the school uniform. Even some of our teachers could not recognize their students. My friends and I. The photo is quite dark though. No time to edit.
See the balloons behind us? Its a star-shaped arch made from balloons. It cost us RM200 which by the end of the night, only balloons were left. She is the one that worked with me from during the musical concert until now. Finally, the both of us can have some peace and quiet. No more worries.

Highlight #2
Just after two weeks the prom ended, I packed my bags and left for Singapore for a week under the Singapore-Malaysia Twinning Program. We went to Methodist Girls' School(MGS). I heard that they have 7 MGS in Singapore. The one we went to was in Blackmore Drive. The school and some of the students we befriended there.

We stay at NACLI. The place is nice for a community leadership institute. The room there could accommodate 10 person to a room but we squeezed in 11. You know how the saying goes, the more the merrier. However, it's really a torture when have have to wait for your turn to bath whether it is at night when everyone is so tired but still needs to wait for their turn eventhough it's already 12 midnight or in the wee hours of the morning around 5am to shower before we leave for school which starts at 7.20am. However, I really enjoyed sharing the same room with all those wackos. Every night they have a routine of screaming, laughing like hyenas and more screaming before they went to bed. Every night, all of us would come back dead tired and some of us already fell asleep in the bus while on the back to NACLI. However, after everyone had their baths, all the energy would be revived and the entire room will be filled with noise like there is no tomorrow. Many secrets were revealed and gossips spread. You get to see the different sides of the friends that you have never seen before. Its really memorable.

We went to the Mangrove Reserve and Newater. We shopped at Vivocity, the biggest shopping mall in Singapore. The mall even has a park of its own which is 3 stories high which overlooks Sentosa Island.A fountain that is outside Vivocity. Its one of those kind that you can run into. Some sort like the ones we see on tv all the time.

We also went to Orchard Road where I practically shopped till I drop. I was only left with $5 after we went to The Night Safari. Its actually really nice for first timers. The place is clean and stink-free(obviously). The workers there were helpful and friendly. We even had seats reserved for us for the animal show. When we went into the theater, most of the seats were already taken. Only one row was empty and that was for us. Everyone else looked enviously and puzzled, even the mat sallehs and tourist from which ever country that they came from. I think they thought we were some kind of VIP.Hahaha..how I wish..

Back to School

First day of school, only one word to describe : Devastating. Just like an earthquake just happened in my brain. Results are just as bad...nine on Richter scale. Duties and commitments piling up at hurricane speed. Assignments to be handed up. Arrhhhhhggggg!!!! Sponsorship hunting...I think I am the hunted one..I always never learn from my mistakes. NEVER EVER DO LAST MINUTE WORK. However, I seem to be getting lazier as the day goes by and doing VERY VERY LAST MINUTE WORK. Its mind boggling how I manage to stay so calm although the deadline is in 3 days' time and I don't see anything being done. Holidays are way better. I spent my entire holiday watching tv and going to the cinema at least once a week. Did nothing except that. No homework no studying. Did I spend my holidays wisely?
